A Cold and Rainy Afternoon in West Lafayette

It's a dreary day here, so we're mostly stuck inside.
Just a few pictures of happenings for us:

An attempt to take a picture in front of the Christmas Tree at the Union. No one was feeling particularly photogenic.

Santa was there too, but Kari wanted nothing to do with the big guy in red.

Post nap, we woke up to find a hawk, perhaps a red-tailed?, perched on the deck. I think we spooked him before he could grab some lunch from our feeders.

Kari also started semi-private swim lessons at Purdue last week. Her classmate is Allison from back at her days at Natalie's daycare. While they haven't seen each other much in the last couple of years, they immediately hit it off and enjoyed lessons tremendously.

Last weekend was also the first snow of the season. Bryce doesn't have snow pants of his own, so I dug out Kari's snowsuit. I know we're going to ruin the poor kid. Remind you a bit of A Christmas Story?

Tomorrow, Kari heads off to the birthday party of one of her classmates. Mati loves Star Wars and so I thought I'd continue to work on my freezer paper technique, but use spray paint this time. The final analysis- it's quite easy and not time consuming at all!
